I consider myself a naturist rather than a nudist. The difference is subtle. I see nudism as being more focused on being nude while in naturism, I see nudity as a part of a holistic lifestyle promoting body acceptance, respect for oneself, others and the environment, health and fitness, and the pursuit of a simpler, less complicated life. While I prefer to be nude when possible, it's not absolutely necessary. Nudity is as much an attitude as it is a state of dress.
